The game got off to a strong start from Jaguars, with 3 goals quickly scored by Rachel Young. Unst had to work hard to find their rhythm with Chelsea Thomson and Anya Risk having to work the ball around the circle into their shooters. After a lot of end to end play Unst managed to pull back and level the score to 6-6. However, Jaguars dug in their heels and with interceptions from Freya Leslie at GD, Jaguars secured two goals in the last minutes of the first quarter which ended 8-6.

In this second quarter Jaguars shooting duo of Sophie Morris and Rachel Young proved a sting pairing. Naomi Brown (WD) for Unst was reading the game well and made some terrific interceptions, unfortunately Unst we’re up against it with Leslie keeping on the pressure at GD and converting the ball back into Jaguars hands. Despite best efforts for Unst the quarter ended 9-19 to Jaguars.

Jaguars shooters. Brown at WD and Martha Moar at GD were making interceptions and getting the ball back into Unst hands but Jaguars were tight in their defence and kept Unst from scoring.

Jaguars kept the pressure on going into the third quarter, with C driving forward to feed the ball into Thomson, playing at C for Unst showed determination in the last quarter keeping Unst moving up into their shooting circle. This was a much better quarter for Unst and they fought hard to get the ball up to Alana Johnson (GA) who had a sharp shooting this quarter. The goals scored in this quarter was 9-8 to Unst, an impressive come back but not enough to make an impact on the game as a whole. Jaguars took the game 23-36. Players of the match were Freya Leslie for Jaguars and Naomi Brown for Unst.
