Wastside 49 V Dutch Courage 24

Wastside took the first centre pass and started strong with GS Erin Morrison and GA Mhari Moncrieff moving well in the circle allowing Wastside secure the first goal.  However, Dutch Courage mid-courts Anja Leslie, Nia Mclean and Carla Johnson were determined, and passed swiftly and accurately, forcing the ball to their end of the court.  The quarter ended 11-5 to Wastside.

In the second quarter, Dutch Courage came on the court keen to close the gap, and both teams had made changes to their teams.  Alexis Jamieson coming on at WD for Dutch Courage, and Shona Hunter came on at WA for Wastside.  Both teams kept fighting, but Wastside’s mid-court of S. Hunter, Ashley Hunter and Erica Mikolajczak linked well and accurately fed the ball into Moncrieff and Morrison.  This allowed Wastside to remain ahead at the end of the quarter.

Quarter three saw both teams become more determined.  Attackers Johnson and A. Jamieson worked well around the circle and providing support to the shooters Cerys Harrop and Sadie Meadows.  However, Wastside’s defence of Bronwyn Walterson and Sarah Sandison worked tirelessly, and made good interceptions, making it difficult for the opposition to score.  This allowed Wastside to end the quarter 35-17 ahead.

Quarter 4 saw Julie Crossan came on at centre for Wastside and Sonja Jamieson moved into WD for Dutch Courage.  Dutch Courage were determined.  Harrop and Meadows passed well and shot accurately.  However, this was not enough to see them take the lead.   The match ended 49-24 to Wastside.  Players of the match were Shona Hunter for Wastside and Carla Johnson for Dutch Courage.
