The game was off to a fast start with both teams linking well.  Play was end-to-end but with Loungers’ shooters Stella Oldbury and Jodie Walterson rarely missing, they managed to pull ahead and the quarter ended 10-4.

Whalsay made a few changes in the second quarter with Cally Thomson making an impact in the circle.  However, crucial intercepts and rebounds from Loungers’ defenders Claire Johnston and Louise Moar saw an increase in their lead.  The quarter ended 21-9 to Loungers.

The third quarter was frantic and Whalsay defenders Natalie Constable and Leanna Jamieson were working tirelessly to create turnovers.  In centre-court Whalsay’s Lianne Jamieson and Irena Polson were linking well to create chances.  Despite this, Loungers still pulled ahead and the quarter ended 31-13.

In the final quarter, Loungers were in full flow.   They were linking well through court with accurate passing from Loungers’ Vicki Smith and Hazel Johnson into their shooters who continued to increase the lead.  The game ended 43-17 to Loungers.  Players of the match were Jodie Walterson for Loungers and Krissie Robertson for Whalsay.
