Whalsay 35 V 44 Kiwis
Both teams started strongly with lots of end to end play. Good attacking play from Lianne Jamieson and Catherine Williamson, with long range shots from Whalsay shooters Karis Leask and Josie Smith put Whalsay in the lead by 3 goals.

Kiwis made some changes in the second quarter with Emma Niven moving to centre. Kiwis made accurate feeds into their attacking circle which Dawn consistently converted into goals. Despite Whalsay’s determination from Lynsey Irvine and Ailidh Risk in defence, Kiwis took the quarter 24-21.

Competitive play from both sides defenders saw a lot of good turnovers in the third quarter. Leanna Jamieson made some excellent interceptions throughout the quarter giving Whalsay more opportunities. However it was Kiwis who managed to convert more interceptions into goals with accurate shooting from Rhianne Colvin. Unfortunately Josie Smith came off with an injury in the final minutes being replaced by Ellie Sandison.  With both teams tiring, the quarter ended 28-34 with Kiwis keeping their lead.

Kiwis continued to capitalise on their lead in the last quarter. Maisie Unsworth and Kim Johnson zoned effectively making well timed interceptions, with good linking up the court. The final score was 44 – 35 to Kiwis. Players of the match were Dawn Manson for Kiwis and Leanna Jamieson for Whalsay.
