Unst 54 V Ness Hotshots 24

Both teams started slowly following the festive break. Unst were the first to settle with accurate shooting from Claire Priest (GS) and Alana Johnson (GA) allowing them to end the first quarter with a score of 13-8.

The second quarter started strongly from both teams with Ness Hot Shots linking well in up the court to the shooters, however the Unst defence of Ashley Symington (GD) and Shona Johnson (GK) were picking up any rebounds. The second quarter ended 29-9 to Unst.

Ness Hotshots were fighting hard in the third quarter and picking up any rebounds, linking well up court and converting them into goals despite the Unst defence making them work hard. The quarter ended 39-15 to Unst.

Determined play from Ness Hotshots defence in the last quarter saw them picking up any rebounds. Strong movement and intercepting from Unst C Irena Polson was making it difficult for Ness Hotshots to get the ball up the court. Ness Hotshots continued to work hard until the final whistle but the match ended 54-24 to Unst.

Players of the match were Claire Priest for Unst and Freya Leslie for Ness Hotshots.
